The Documenta is the most significant exhibition of contemporary art worldwide and located in Kassel. Since 1995 recent trends of modern art are shown every five years, simultaneously offering space for new exhibition concepts. The changing curators bring in their own point of view of modern art and initiate sociopolitical discussions constantly. The Documenta 14 takes place from 8th April until 16th July in Athens, Greece and from 10th June until 17th September 2017 in Kassel, Germany. Die documenta 14 findet vom 8. April bis 16. Juli in Athen und vom 10. Juni bis 17. September 2017 in Kassel statt.
Artistic direction by Adam Szymczyk

You (the artists) are invited to create a piece of work from each of your experiences of the two cities, Kassel and Athens. In which way the artists go along with this invitation, is left to them.

The main exhibition places of the Documenta are the Fridericianum and the Documenta-Halle. You can reach these with the tram 5 and 6. It takes only 10 minutes and no change needed.
